When was the last time that you read about a country act releasing a double album? Thought so. Well anyways, duo Mandolin Orange are performing such a feat and ‘Haste Make’ is a first offering. Considering that this is a double I’m sure there will be more to follow.
‘Haste Make’ is pure unadulterated classic country. The way it was intended to be. Fiddles, piano, pedal steel and lyrics about loss. It’s a mellow tune that just sets the goosebumps climbing up your arm. This is a song that is totally untainted by computer jiggery whatsoever and I’m damn happy about it. Songs like ‘Haste Make’ are very rare so it’s a treat to hear something in this vein.
